Unlock User Satisfaction with the Power of a UX Audit

Ux/UI Auditing

What is a UX Audit?

A UX (User Experience) audit is a comprehensive evaluation of a digital product's user experience. This process involves systematically assessing various aspects of the product to identify usability issues, areas for improvement, and opportunities for enhancing the overall user experience. The audit typically includes heuristic evaluations, user testing, and analysis of user data to provide a holistic view of how effectively the product meets the needs and expectations of its users.

Why you should ask us to conduct a UX audit?

A UX Audit's value lies in its ability to provide actionable insights and recommendations for improvement. By uncovering usability issues and understanding user behaviour, a UX Audit helps businesses make informed decisions to enhance their digital products.

Improvements based on audit findings can lead to increased user satisfaction, higher engagement, and better conversion rates. Additionally, a well-conducted UX Audit can identify potential barriers to accessibility, ensuring that the product is inclusive and usable by a broader audience.

A UX Audit is a thorough analysis of your website or app to identify usability issues and areas for improvement. Our goal is to enhance the user experience, ensuring that your digital products are visually appealing, intuitive, accessible, and efficient.

A UX audit is also a powerful way to understand your website's current position, how it is failing and where it sits against your competitor landscape. Understanding this can provide the backbone of a brief when considering a new website. With the resulting document, business owners and marketing professionals can enter into the redesign and build armed with key considerations to be addressed.

Our UX Audit service

We break down our UX Audit into several key areas to ensure a comprehensive evaluation. Our evaluation timeframe is relative to the complexity of the website we are being asked to evaluate and start at 5 days.

We also include a consultation meeting, where we discuss the key findings with you, along with recommendations for ways forward.

Here’s how we do it:

Visual Aesthetics

First impressions matter. We evaluate the visual design of your digital product, including colour schemes, typography, and overall layout. Our goal is to ensure that your design is visually appealing and aligns with your brand identity.

The very beginning of a user's journey is in the first 10 to 30 seconds. In these moments we act with our lizard brain. Do we like it, yes or no? If the answer is no, we move on to a competitor's website instead.

User Experience/Journey

Using tools like HotJar and Google Analytics, we analyse user behaviour to understand how visitors interact with your site or app. We track user journeys to identify friction points and optimise the flow, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience.

Information Architecture

A well-organised structure is crucial for usability. We assess your information architecture to ensure that content is logically organised and easily navigable for your users. This includes evaluating sitemaps, navigation menus, and the overall content hierarchy.

Accessibility

Inclusive design is essential. We check your digital product against the accessibility standards defined by WCAG 2.2 (AA Standard), to evaluate its usability for impaired visitors and provide you with recommendations on how to make improvements.

This includes evaluating keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and colour contrast.

Best Practices for Coding Standards

Clean, efficient code is the backbone of a performant website or app. We review the rendered HTML through Google Chrome to ensure it adheres to best practices from a UX (User Experience) point of view. This helps improve general accessibility and page performance.

Page Performance

Speed matters. We analyse page load times and overall performance to ensure your site or app is fast and responsive. Slow performance can frustrate users and lead to higher bounce rates, so optimising page speed is a key focus.
